[PLAYSTATION2] Project Zero 3 Review Code Goes for AU$100 at Auction

Hi gamers and collectors!

It's that time again! Wait is it? No it's the first time, Playstation 2 related stuff doesn't happen here very often but this one takes the cake and well I'll allow it just this once, or twice. An eBay seller was selling a bunch of Playstation Review code discs, while going through them I spotted a title my sister loves so much, Project Zero... Or Fatal Frame depending where you're from. If you're a fan of survival horror you'll know Project Zero/Fatal Frame is rather well known for it's... Ghosts, topless ghosts to be precise.

Well anyway the auction started at 0.99GBP, while watching the item for days on end and not spotting a single bid - I was surprised, continued to watch it and there was 1d left, still no bids! So I was about to enter an amount until I refreshed once more and noticed it jump to $20, still not bad for review code right? Refreshed again, BAM! $80, the auction ended at $100 - the same price for the retail copy, I expected it to reach more really. Who ever won this sure won a gem, please at least record footage of it!!!

For those who are not too sure, for the disc it's self, it's review code - meaning it was given to the press for review a few weeks before release date. Generally review code is rather close to retail, sometimes with just added Level Selects for RPGs and so on - the seller stated in the auction it's close to retail, so I was right. How much the seller has played the retail, well that's a little hard to justify... All I hope now is that the buyer will document the found differences, but I doubt that will happen at all.

[XBOX] Conker Reloaded 1 of 4 XBOX sold on eBay for $610!

Hi gamers and collectors.

Welcome back, yeah, yeah I didn't win the auction... From the feedback I got after posting it on the ASSEMblergames forums, it just doesn't sound like it's worth the $610 - of course that's all a matter of opinion.

I was wanting this system quite bad, there are only 4 ever made, hence the price I guess. But my limit was $250. Besides most airbrushed XBOXs are not that great looking, even the DOA:XBV one doesn't look that sweet and there are 20 of those. Any how, another time and another day... I possibly won't see one until I'm 40...Which is 20 years away, AHHHHHH!!!!

[XBOX] Alias Arrived!

Hi gamers and collectors!

This time not a rare title, nor interesting but got it for a super low $2.50. I'm not too sure about Alias I never watched the TV series so this is one of those "It's only a few dollars, why not?" type purchases, but hey it's produced and published by Acclaim! Rather a good idea since I plan to own all 1,000 XBOX games in the end... Wonder how long that will take D:

Condition, Condition! Not really too much says really, but the case did crack in the postage doubt you'd know where it did anyway ;). Overall, Manual, Case and DVD are in great condition nothing to really complain about.

I do know this game was released for the PS2 and Windows as well, it did sell poorly across all platforms. I doubt I'd ever really give this game ago but I think I'll just stay with Stolen...

More games to come, see you there!

[XBOX] Tomb Raider: Legend Arrived!

Hi gamers and collectors!

*RANT*
I woke up to some disappointing news, an email from PayPal saying I was denied my refund. Even though I gave clear evidence that the copy of Rogue Ops I received was indeed an resealed, replacement case. My guess is that THIS seller is a "top rated seller" and eBay stuck to his side the whole time. You know, that's fine it's just a warning to everyone who's looking for sealed games never buy ANYTHING from THIS seller. Take your chances if you wish, but most likely it's resealed... On top of that, his idea of compensation is just plain ludicrous! "Bought an XBOX game? Here have a bonus disc from another game on another platform." What an asshole... after I declined that, he offered me DLC codes, yes, DLC CODES for MORE GAMES I DON'T OWN! Then later said I blew the whole problem out of proportion. Anal ring this guy is! You know what doesn't make sense? If he was willing to post ANOTHER item for $8 why couldn't he refund my $8 game? Yeah that's right, too much effort to reseal huh? Well I still get to destroy your feedback, think being rude and yelling at me in messages is going to just not bother me? Anyway, there's your warning collectors... Now let's get into some positive news!
*END_RANT*

Got a rather large parcel today, but for now... I'll just talk about the copy of Tomb Raider: Legend that I received today. As many of you know or will know now, I love Tomb Raider or should I say I love Lara Croft? Lol, so this game was later released on the XBOX 360 with updated visuals, so you're probably familiar seeing the game at some point. However, the XBOX version rather rare or expensive (for an XBOX game) also the Australian release. This was the second expensive game I've picked up for the XBOX so far, which set me back $14.50 compared to the $3-$8 games I've been getting... All other platforms it was released for wouldn't cost any more than a dime.

Now for the condition! The case is quite damaged on the spine in the top left otherwise it's rather acceptable.

The manual and the disc fall under a slightly different category - Very good. ^^

While testing the game I got rather hooked, the visuals for the XBOX standard AV pack look stunning on the 42" TV...And no that's NOT sarcasm, really it does look great! Not sure if this game is 720p enabled or not. Might look into it.

More games to come, see you there!

[XBOX] Rogue Ops has Arrived! -- Sadly scammed

Hi gamers and collectors!

As awesome as the postman is, I had to go to the post office to pick up my parcel. So I opened up the parcel, checked the game over quickly as I was playing online at the time and put it down. After I finished the race I was on, I unwrapped the game, removed the sticker and opened the case... Cool. Hang on! The print from the XBOX label rubbed off onto my thumb, that's odd I thought...Hmm. So I opened up the case and realised it's very flimsy, not only that but the colour is all wrong... Transparent green?! What a load of bullshit, what a load of fucking bullshit it's a replacement case, with a fake XBOX seal and a polished disc and sold as New and Sealed. Fuck me...

So I sent a message to the seller who hasn't responded yet, if I get a bullshit message or something I'll make a whole story to say not to buy from this person. Even with a link to his eBay page, I know eBay won't do anything to fix this situation so I'm really hoping to get a reply from him.
I happened to find the cases he bought and sealed up to make them look "new", so I sent a link to those cases to him. So how did I spot this fake apart from the colour and splodgy label? Easy, the seal wasn't right to begin with. The seam was on the spine which no games are sealed from the spine, NEVER. There is usually a tear strip of some kind or no seam at all.

Sure, the game works fine and the manual is a bit marked but still this isn't what I paid for, and I'm really looking forward to his reply as I found out all the flaws in his scam. Tread carefully collectors, we have a decoy among us.

[XBOX] X-Men Legends Has Arrived!!

Hi gamers and collectors!

Well it's about time, X-Men Legends is now added to my XBOX collection!
As usual, I check things over, test the game and what not... I ended up seeing that the case had huge slit in the front. At first I thought I did that, but later on I remember tearing the packaging and not cutting it. Another problem was the manual, it had something spilt on it, pages were stuck together and I had to get a knife and try to separate the pages, long process and luckily nothing got torn... Sigh.

I did end up giving the seller positive feedback, but I just mentioned what was wrong with the item in the feedback. It'd probably cost me more than the item to send it back...

Anyway, so I while testing the game I got hooked. I couldn't stop progressing through the story, it's a fun beat-em up game with combos, objects to throw, grapple your enemies and throw them into cars, trash cans, chairs and the list goes on. The levels have a free-roam feel to it, even though it's clearly path driven. I defeated the first two bosses but kept dying after Blob. There just were not enough health potions to keep me going, and losing Wolverine didn't help either, think I'll just start again.

[XBOX] BMX XXX Arrived!!

Hi gamers and collectors!

So let's get started shall we? BMX XXX finally arrived, it's been on my watch list for around 3 months now and I nearly missed out on it, just hoping it would get relisted :O. Good thing is, all my money goes towards a charity from this auction and it's a game I needed to own. BMX XXX was banned in Australia or sold for a VERY short amount of time as it was considered too adult for our market, also it had a 18+ rating globally. Now I can see why after opening the manual, boom sexual images... I have a feeling if this game was sold here those images would be blurred out, oh please think of the children! -_-

Condition wise, well it was factory sealed but what bothered me was the seller included a keychain in the parcel and you know what keychains look like and are made out of right? Tough materials, that rubbing up on a soft plastic case does it no justice and which you'll see what I mean in the picture below....

I believe it was one of Acclaim's last games and I guess they were hoping from the amount of sex appeal in the game it'd help them out of red. (the red...sounded so wrong lol). From saying that, this game is very hard to find sealed if not like-new condition. As it was banned in Australia I had to order my copy from the UK, not like that's different for me 85% of my orders are from the UK.

Now I can die happy, a game that made headlines about it's aliasing boobies is now added to my XBOX collection. :P

[XBOX] STOLEN has Arrived!!

Hi gamers and collectors!

It was my birthday 3 days ago and as a gift from my relatives I was handed money. I'm guessing you know where all this money is going to, that's right you guessed it...More games!
So I have a lot of love for the XBOX, there are plenty of games that the system has that any XBOX owner should have. I've bought a handful so far, and the reason for the slow updates on the matter is that most of them were auctions :( however I did win nearly all of them, if not I did win them all.

So the first game I bought was STOLEN, no no no it's the title of the game, Stolen. It's a 3rd person stealth based game, doing moves like Catwoman and getting away with the goods. I haven't played through it yet but that was the first objective :P

When the game arrived, of course my OCD set in and looked all over it for defects. Knowing this game wouldn't be worth an extra dime I wasn't so fussed but the case had a huge gash in the front, you won't see it in the pictures because I changed the case over from another game. I later checked the manual, every single page to see if any pages were missing or damaged, all those checks past. Anyhow, I popped in the XBOX and it loads the game fine...

Just as I was taking the above picture I noticed a shiny scratch on the label side of the disc. Now any gamer would know the label side is where well the label is, but it's what the label holds underneath is important. So held the disc up to the light and I could see straight through the scratch :(. So maybe later on in the game it might start to stutter or not load at all. Good thing my XBOX is modified and a backup will fix this problem... As it's not an expensive title (Got it for $10) I'll let it slide as the disc still works fine...at the start that is. You'll see what I mean in the picture below...

More updates to come during the week!

Vigilante 8 2nd Offense Has Arrived!

Hi gamers!

Yet another game I've been waiting to find complete, "Viglante 8 2nd Offense" is now added to my collection. It's a PAL release UKV to be precise and it's in fair condition, the box is a bit tatty and has had some tape work done to it in the past. I've tried to fix it up better than what it was with some small success.

I was a little surprised to see the reg card included, as I didn't see it in auction picture... However the contents is really good, I haven't seen the manual in this condition in my entire life.
This game brought back so many memories from my childhood, I used to even write my own stories about the game or with characters from the game in grade 2 :P Anyway, more games to come!

Destruction Derby 64 Arrived!

Hi gamers!

This morning I nearly tripped over another box while stepping out my door (which is the first in 2 months), cut it open and it was Destruction Derby 64 a game I've been waiting long for to finally own. I love this game ever since I was a kid and I still remember playing it on my CRT next to the kitchen while still attending primary school, sheesh, that's so long ago!
So I finally have it, and the condition? Mint, glad I waited till 2012 to buy the game I found a copy last year in box but it was quite tatty. This was well worth the wait.

The process for the Nintendo 64 collection is rather slow, but it's moving along. I've sold all incomplete games last night and shipped them out today, so now with that money is time to recreate my boxed collection. I should add that I'm not too fussed on regions, I'll buy any copy NTSC/PAL as long as it's in English, so my collection looks pretty uniform if you look at it.
With any other games that are incomplete for other collections will be sold, I'm someone who wants everything complete, and usually when I have the chance they will be brand new.

Nintendo 64 hunting continues and HAPPY EASTER!!

Hi gamers!

First off, Happy Easter to you all! I bet many of you played a lot of games today ^^

It's been a few days since my last blog post, but only because I've been so bloody busy on my new shiny tablet :3. Well, I've only just gotten it, last Thursday. I should leave this tablet talk for next entry, thinking of reviewing it actually on my channel...
SO! What have I been up to besides that? Well I've been hunting Nintendo 64 stuff, and I mean hunting, I've got notepad++ open listing down games I need to recover what I used to own as a child, and even games I WANTED to own at that time.

As I've mentioned many times before I've always been into Arcade Racers, and that genre is usually 3rd party and what this means is, many games I'm looking for are either: Rare, Expensive, or horrible condition and off the top of my head, it's going to be a very slow process. Well that's part of the fun right?

Not all of this search can be done online, I'll have to ask around people I know and check every goodwill store there is locally. Too bad the weather has been pretty shitty, and actually my city has the worse -_-

Well that's what I've been doing lately, not much as I've quit my study and currently looking for work, oh that's the other thing but I guess you wouldn't want to read about that anyway. XD

Super Mario 64 Arrived!! Childhood recovered! :P

Hi gamers!

Today my friend brought over Super Mario 64 which arrived Monday, he has way more luck in auctions than I do, so I got him to bid :P Anyway, I finally own this game, after borrowing it from many people and video stores during my primary school days. I remember this game being $50 brand new at various entertainment and lifestyle stores, and well I paid $10 more for it in 2012.

CIB+ |CART|INSTRUCTIONS|BOX|W/CARD|POSTER|H/CARD
The game is great condition I wouldn't say perfect, but it is indeed good condition. What pissed me off the most is that the seller posted the game in a box and wrapped the game up in news paper, now here is something every seller should know, NEVER PACK GAMES IN NEWSPAPER!!! If you do, at least wrap the game in plastic before hand. -_-. When I unwrapped the game there was ink all over it and was very gluey.
Luckily I managed to remove all the new paper ink from the box with Windex ^_^.
Another thing was also spotted, the seller had stuffed the manual into the box the wrong way causing the bottom of it to crumple ><. I had to flatten the it out the best way I could with a XBOX 360 :P

I would have to mention; Nintendo 64 is pretty difficult to collect for, many sellers cannot pack these even if they were told how. I've had games shipped in bags without any bubble wrap, and many of them arrived crushed.

King of Fighters: Collector's Edition Arrived today!!

Hi gamers!

Another great auction won, with King of Fighters: Collector's Edition. I'm quite stunned I got this for $7.50! Best buy yet I reckon, I should mention it was a last minute bid too ROFL.

It comes complete with both discs, slip cover and art book I don't know if you can call it an art book but it shows some renders so I'd call it an artbook. ;) The condition is just amazing, I bought this from a collector the case and box doesn't have one scratch on it! This just has to be the best auction won for me so far! ^_^

Finally the Owner of Rumble Roses XX - The Review

Hi gamers!

I happened to miss one package yesterday no idea how but I did. I ripped it open and and found it was Rumble Roses XX. Such a rare game, and pretty expensive for a second-hand one as well. The disc was covered and I mean covered in sticker glue, I got a bit of water and tried to scrub it off but no luck. I found that cooking oil removes it easily, a good 30 minutes later -_-..

Now for the review..

Rumble Roses XX enables you to modify your "Rose" from costumes, body features (I bet you know what I mean by that) and intros.. There is now a shop you can buy extra outfits depending on your character. I've chosen Candy Cane so it's a variety of school girl outfits, and there are also extra swimsuits.
On the topic of Swimsuits, I still yet to even find the "Mud Match"..Hmm.

I still think Rumble Roses is better than XX, for small factor of more simple game play. You have all these EXP points, stats, different weight and all that stuff. Although it "DOESN'T" make XX horrible, just more confusing for a veteran player but it is easy to adapt to once you start getting into it.

The visuals are pretty good, it's one of the early XBOX 360 games so some textures appear low res. It's shame this is the case the XBOX 360 has the memory to pull these details off yet Konami decided to cut some corners. Why would you do that?

Overall it's a pretty nice game, and very entertaining to play. Your favourite "Roses" are all there and just like Rumble Roses many of them are locked at the start. I can be Candy Cane so I'm happy ^_^

An insane half a million dollar NES game on eBay, has to be seen!

Hi gamers!

This caught my eye on the forums, Stadium Events for the NES was listed on eBay for half a mill. I doubt even the most craziest collector will even think of buying this.. Yet who would have half a mill to spend on a NES game?! I can't write any longer about this, my head keeps falling in the palm of my hand.

Recent XBOX Arrivals

Hi gamers!

Two XBOX games finally arrived into my collection, Dead or Alive: Xtreme Beach Volleyball and 007 Agent Under Fire. I'm 3 games away from completing the Dead or Alive collection, it will be complete sometime soon as I've been bidding on quite a few for the past few weeks. I managed to get both of these games under $10, so my collection will surely grow with the amount of games I've been finding under $10.
I also bought a XBOX USB Cable which is basicly a USB 1.1 adapter so I can use a keyboard and a USB memory stick to save games onto or back up my saves. Don't worry there are more stuff coming in so stay tuned ^^

Bidding Like a Madman | Updates

Hi gamers,

Let me get the apology out the way, sorry I haven't been submitting as much content as I usually do. It's not the fact that I want to stop blogging in fact I want to blog even more.

I've been reorganizing a lot things and wondering what I'd be doing this year. I'm leaning towards taking a trip to America and doing some more game shopping over there, jumping into stores and markets (it's pretty big over there). If I don't happen to go for what ever reason I'd have to study or find a job and you know how hard both of those things are.

I happen to format my PC today, and install a 64-bit OS as I was running on a 32-bit OS and what a difference it makes! Took me a few hours to install and reinstall my must needed applications and what not, it's such a tiring process. Also trying to find 64-bit version of the programs you had.

Been up to a lot of bidding lately on eBay, a few games have popped up that don't usually show up as bids. I've been trying to get them for a single figure price including the postage as it happens from time to time. It looks like everyone else has the idea and keeps putting stupid automatic bids in, doesn't that bother you? Any how, a few current generation games are getting into the mix, and of course retro games. I always aim to buy retro, but bidding on those is nearly impossible sometimes, especially Nintendo 64 stuff.

On the topic of Nintendo 64, the EXTREME Green controllers I mentioned a few submissions ago are on their way! I might happen to see them next week or the following week.
There are quite a few Nintendo 64 games I'll be bidding on, and it's not like I haven't already. I've spent quite a bit of cash in the past week just on gaming stuff, so I might need to slow down next week.. Of course if it's possible :P

Amazing Tie Fighter Nintendo 64 Custom Console on eBay

Hi gamers!

Remember the Green/White Yoshi Nintendo 64 I posted a few weeks back? Well here is another custom Nintendo 64, this time it's been stuffed into a Hasbro 1995 Tie Fighter from Star Wars. The system overall looks amazing no doubt about it, very unique mod. The controller ports seem a bit hacked up with a sharp tool but other than that it's very very neat!

If you want this, expect to pay $600 for it. I'm not too sure where this price is coming from, but I believe it's the original toy shell you're paying for as a standard Nintendo 64 is $30-$40 stock. It does have a built expansion pak so that won't be a worry. When powered on the cockpit lights up red, I think it should really of been changed though, maybe blue?

No bids and 5d to go, wonder if it will sell?

Custom Nintendo 64 Reaches $225 on eBay

Hi gamers!

After doing a bit of virtual wonder around eBay I found this listing a few days ago, after watching how it would go for I was surprised to see it reached $225! Pretty good for a repaint very simple process yes, but it was a good job well done.

The repaint is meaning to represent the colour scheme of Yoshi, our favourite Dinosaur! The only thing that's disappointing is that it doesn't come with it's own custom controller, it would of been a perfect pair but you get a Yoshi figure!

Zelda 3DS Limited Edition overprice on eBay. Has to be seen to be believed!

Hi gamers!

You want one? Want one badly? Go out and go to the store that only has it EB. This seller on eBay has a lot of balls to sell these at $370! You could import one for that price that includes Zelda Ocarina of Time!
Don't fall into traps like this on eBay, it's not like this edition is sold out everywhere. There are plenty in stock at the moment at EB stores around Australia. The bad thing is, this seller has sold 2 already. He should made a lot of money from that, by ripping off gamers.

See for yourself:
